Here's an Excerpt from BB PILIPINAS 2006: NATIVE FACES TRIUMPHANT
by Joseph Vitug

1ST RUNNER-UP: CANDIDATE NO. 11 – ROSALYN SANTIAGO. Some people might have been surprised at her showing, and may criticize her eyes (which one wag compared to comic strip character Garfield the cat). I compared her to a less polished version of Tracy Javelona (with a slightly less lively stage presence and a more “Philippine” accent, as Tracy’s accent is flawlessly American/universal), so I predicted that she will make the cut. Little did I know she would equal Tracy’s showing in this competition. She automatically made the cut by winning the Smart Texter’s Choice Award, but there was slight faux pas in the announcement of the Top 10 as she was called again—apparently with or without the Texter’s Choice award, she scored high enough with the preliminary panel to make the cut anyway. She made a strong impression during the finals, showcasing a nice hourglass with her dusky complexion during the swimsuit round, and looked lovely in a strapless sequined gold bustier with light green chiffon gown—one of the more tasteful and better gown designs of the evening. She performed very well in the interview round with a sincere and well-composed answer to bank CEO Daniel Turucci’s question about from whom she learned the most about life, from her parents or from her teachers. Rosalyn answered family because of the love, support, and understanding they gave her, that inspired to give her best, to persevere, and that they brought out the best in her. She capped by saying, “That is why I’m here in front of you.” I like her. “

Tnx Sirikit for giving us; Novo Ecijanos something to cherish forever... May you have many victories to come. :)
